its strange how we change,
almost unnoticed,
until we look back in vain,
searching for who we are,
who we were,
all our triumphs and pains,
and yet there is a part,
which remains the same.
the same since our first day of pre-k,
the same since our first kiss,
first death,
first wish,
So what changes?
what stays the same?

intuition.
Intuition?
or just plain stupid?
what is truth,
when we eat, sleep, and breathe
illusion?
is it my gut?
or my false assumptions?
A faulty ancient, mental function,
short cutting my frontal lobe's precision?
Intuition?
or just plain stupid?
what is thruth,
when we eat, sleep, and breathe,
Confusion.

Upon this speck,
spinning in space,
lost in a game,
all about face.
Social status,
illusionary success,
clouded by torrents,
sprung from internal distress.
What does it mean,
to be raised a machine?
Work for your country,
slave for the state,
All the while men & women,
loving a lie,
living disguised,
far too filled with fear,
to have the time,
to truly realize,
That they raise us as slaves,
the hierarchy,
bureaucratic-patriarchal-ruling-elite,
work for your money,
that don't mean a goddamn-significant-fucking-thing,
so while the walls,
of our empire fall,
masses still plugged in,
just watching it all...
what then, when its in the streets?
when shoprite doesn't get its shipment of precious deli meats?
when the distressed, fear-depressed,
run hungry through the streets?
The virtuous will hold true,
the light shinning of few,
bringing many,
bringing masses to the truth.
Bring us all closer,
To You.

Be the change:
Its funny how the smallest things can have the largest impact. After a weekend spent almost on hibernation mode, I awoke feeling the need to take charge, to be active, and not hide from life. I wanted to start my day with a run, but instead of shooting to high and burning myself out I went for a walk. I didn't have a destination in mind, but 5 minutes into the walk and I decided to go to shoprite to get breakfast materials. (I had a huge hankering for some of my amazing taylor ham egg&cheese xD) So anyway it wasnt until my walk back that I came into contact with someone who changed my perspective. I was on the last leg of my journey home and I see a woman walking, and every 10 steps or so stoping and bending over. I laughed to myself creating a scenario as to why someone would be doing this, and leaving such information to my mind, it is usually somewhat slapstick, in nature. What she was doing was picking up bottles and small pieces of garbage that she found while she was walking. I was watching her as the two of us walked, until she crossed the street and was now walking infront of me. Her actions had inspired me to pick up a can. She was walking and passed a recycling bin. I said something to her and started a conversation.
This conversation fulfilled one of my goals for today. I've been reading Mindsight, by Daniel J. Siegel (A great read which I highly recommend) and it talks about resonating with other people. I feel like I've lacked, or unconsciously blocked this ability for a long time, but today that has changed. I've made a breakthrough.
Our conversation which switched subjects from too much garbage, too many people, people thinking their were too many animals, until she said something that struck a chord deep within.
Don't try to save the world, no one can, but if you try to take care of your corner, the universe will do the same.
This makes sense quite logically, Karen in picking up trash on her walk, (her corner of the world) was doing what she could to help the planet out. Unbeknownst to her, that such a simple gesture would start a chain reaction, cause me and other people who may have seen her action.

Re-Integrating Technological Advancement with the Environment and soul of man.
Let us start with the presupposition that all of the observable universe is made up of the same substance; atoms. Through this material and a very long amount of time, it has created vessels not only with consciousness, but with the ability to have awareness of this consciousness. We exist as cells of the human organism, which is a cell in the earth organism (Gaia), and so on and so forth into larger scale relationships. We are all one being. We need to get past the "I" generation. Yes we each experience life from a unique perspective, but so does every other one of us.
Our species has been working, living, and "progressing" quite unconsciously since our first society, and from a Cosmic perspective we are relatively young. So we fucked up a littlebit on our path, who wants to spend their time crying over nuked cities, extinct species, and a little spilt oil? its part of our evolutionary process. I liken the founding of America as the beginning Humanities "Teenage" years. This is a very important time period because what we do now, will determine if we destroy ourselves and die, or evolve and THRIVE. We have to fail, inorder to learn, to live, to win, to truly be able to love.
We now live in an age where our pre-technological societies are stagnating and crumbling while scientific advancement is shooting headlong into the future. We need to do away with the old way of running things. The way in which we thought and acted which created our problems, cannot be upheld to correct them. We need a new system which cultivates fully conscious individuals. Which empowers every individual to achieve their best and to work WITH others, rather than this illusion of you VS me.
At the same time we need to halt futher scientific "progress" because we are not truly progressing. To progress we need to create a new infrastructure. A new way of living which not only works with nature, but ENHANCES it. If humanity is in its Teenage years, Petrol, sweet, sweet, oil, is our addiction of choice: our will to death. We need to do away with it completely, we need to re-evaluate our universe and break the habit of every civilization before us: the reliance on ONE main resource for everything. This worked in the past for smaller civilizations, but never for too long. Population growth always grew exponentially greater while the resource dwindled. So INSTEAD we need utilize a wider array power sources. As to decentralize the stress upon the planet.(To take a side note here, I think there is a great secret hidden within the forces of magnetism, gravity, and whatever allows electricity to function, which could completely revolutionize humanities power sources).
